The Helford Ferry runs between Helford Passage and Helford Village The ferry operates from Good Friday or 1st April to October 31st. The ferry will run on demand between 9:30 am and 5.30 pm. Later crossings by request. New for 2009 - from late June until the end of August the ferry will run from 9:30 am to 9:30 pm Very occasionally, because of very bad weather, the ferry cannot run.
Our network of local bus services ensures that you can reach many beaches, villages and attractions in the area without a car. Helston is the hub of the local bus network. The T34 connects with rail at Redruth. Regular services also operate between Helston and Penzance, Falmouth, Truro and Camborne. Bus service 2 follows the coast west to Penzance with panoramic Mount's Bay via Porthleven, Praa Sands, Perranuthnoe, Marazion and St Michael's Mount.
In the summer months, Bus 401 runs from Helston to St Ives, calling in at Trevarno Gardens and Godolphin House. The Lizard Rambler (T3) explores the east of the peninsula passing through hidden creeks and wooded valleys, rolling heathland and pass through small coastal hamlets. At Helford you can catch the ferry to visit Glendurgan and Trebah gardens, ideal for walkers. Truronian,the main bus operator, offers Day Rover tickets (Adult £6, Seniors £5 Children £4 Family £16) for unlimited travel on one day.
